Glad to know I am your favorite. Do you have any idea when I might finally get off the dreaded IAU watchlist and gain my proper title? 9 years is a long time.

I hope you enjoy this. I wrote when NASA requested people to write in on Hubble’s 20th anniversary what Hubble has meant to them. Now we are st 25 years! Left out links in case they aren’t allowed. I’m certain you already know the info in them.

MESSAGE TO HUBBLE

The beauty of a starry night has created poetry, fashioned masterpieces, composed songs, ignited loves and made us wonder about our world’s significance in the universe, made us ponder our individual life’s meaning in the great vastness that surrounds us.  Vincent Van Gogh’s portrait Starry Night reaches the depths of our souls while Hubble, in turn, makes contact with all the wisdom of our brains helping us to understand the worlds and stars around us, helping us to slightly understand ourselves.  Hubble shows the amazing way our solar system is dependent on ‘every’ ‘body’ in it showing us that we are all a part of a bigger picture made up our individual selves.  No one person means more than another in this big picture.

And to not forget one of those other persons, Georges Lemaître, should be recognized.  This physicist and priest and more came up with the Big Bang Theory.  He wrote of the expanding universe prior to Hubble developing the same idea but Hubble had his telescope to help prove the theory.

Wonder if Georges Lemaître or Edwin Hubble had any cats?

(Obviously I wrote this after the episode of ‘Sheldon’s Cats’ on “The Big Bang Theory”)
